Jonathan Hood

By physically removing all the heads from newspapers I remove them from the context of the stories in which they were published. By sticking them down all together in no hierarchical preference they acquire a new context and meaning. Footballers, politicians victims of crime and criminals alike are stuck side by side to form a sort of skin for a life size head. I hope to build up a portrait of the news as a whole and frame it within the traditions of neoclassical sculpture. The act of looking is excessively turned back on the viewer.
